| Description : | Long-awaited double-CD reissue of the 1st 3 releases by Swiss hardkore-jazz pioneers 16-17. It includes the 1st 2 albums (16-17 from 1986 and When All Else Fails from 1989) and the very limited cassette-only Hardkore & Buffbunker EP from 1984, all freshly remastered by specialist Weasel Walter. Musically, what you get here is live punk jazz at its most extreme, power electronics, robotic beats, industrial noise, and much more. 18 tracks (90min) of pure fury, that will certainly appeal to fans of God, Painkiller, Borbetomagus, The Flying Luttenbachers, etc... All the music on this set was recorded live. Nevertheless, the 2nd album hints at the post-production techniques the band used extensively during the 90's. It even features a weird industrial hip-hop track filled with nasty vocals and Miami Vice-style electronic rototoms. | |
